Sugar strike of 1958, Hawaiʻi Island
Footage shot on Hawaiʻi Island during the 1958 sugar strike showing activities strikers partook in to pass the time and how they fed their families. The footage includes the strikers playing music, slaughtering and butchering a pig, shooting and butchering a cow, gardening in the Union Garden, loading cabbages onto a truck, playing baseball, fishing and gutting a sword fish, and footage of the plantation.
