Researchers Manfred Asche and Hannelore Hoch explain in detail the diverse characteristics and evolution of some of Hawaiʻi's many species of planthoppers. Asche focuses on two species from Hawaiʻi and Kauaʻi that have complicated songs. Hoch focuses on their study of cave-dwelling planthoppers.
