Topics include growing up on plantations, his education, joining the speech department and meeting Maggie and Senator Inouye at University of Hawaiʻi, attending Fordham Law School, how some of his first legal partners became important political figures in Hawaiʻi, campaigning for the Democratic party, working as a staff member for Senator Inouye when he was a representative; becoming the Director of Labor, travelling with Governor Burns; becoming a judge on Kauaʻi and in Saipan, and Senator Inouye's importance to Hawaiʻi and himself.
