Interview with former Hawaii U.S. Congresswoman Colleen Hanabusa recorded on August 11, 2015 for the Daniel K. Inouye Oral History Project. Topics include growing up in Waiʻanae as motivation for Hanabusa to become a politician, Senator Inouye's contribution to local projects and issues, such as funding for Waiʻanae High School's Searider Productions, his meetings with the Democratic caucus when he would visit Hawaiʻi, his support for Hanabusa and wishing for her to succeed him, the effectiveness of his political style, and the importance of Senator Inouye as a political figure in Hawaiʻi. Interview was conducted at the Alakea Street Building in Downtown Honolulu.
