Interview with Jeffrey N. Watanabe, the retired founding partner of the law firm Watanabe Ing LLP, recorded at the First Hawaiian Center in downtown Honolulu on February 11, 2016 for the Daniel K. Inouye Oral History Project. Topics include working on Capitol Hill as a law student, race riots, campaigning during the Watergate Hearings, Henry Giugni, Senator Inouye's effect on Mr. Watanabe's career, what contributed to Senator Inouye's power, the Senator being an "extraordinary strategist", his relationship with Senator Ted Stevens, Senator Inouye wanting Colleen Hanabusa to succeed him, and coming to terms with the Senator's death.
