Interview with Daniel "Ken" Inouye Jr., son of Senator Inouye and wife Margaret Awamura. The interview was recorded in Mānoa on January 16, 2016 for the Daniel K. Inouye Oral History Project. Topics include growing up in D.C., racial discrimination in D.C., how his father found common ground with colleagues, how his mother kept his father grounded, being introduced to music, support of his punk rock musical career [Ken was a member of the punk rock group Marginal Man], campaigning, his father's love of movies, the development of his father's oratorical skills, moving back to Hawaiʻi, and his father's legacy.
