Interview with Jennifer G. Sabas, who served as Senator Inouye's chief of staff in both Washington, D.C. and Honolulu. The interview was recorded at the law offices of Watanabe Ing LLP on September 10, 2015 for the Daniel K. Inouye Oral History Project. Topics include attending law school, joining Senator Inouye's staff and her rise from a legislative assistant to chief of staff, lessons and strategies learned from trying to move a piece of legislature through the legislative process, Iran-Contra, changes she made to the Hawaiʻi office, campaign stories about Kalaupapa and running against Rick Reed, the Commerce Committee, Senator Inouye's relationships with various presidents, the Senator's last moments, and events following the memorial services.
