Interview with Lloyd N. Hand, senior counsel with the law firm King and Spalding. The interview was recorded at the law offices of King and Spalding in Washington, D.C. on July 14, 2014 for the Daniel K. Inouye Oral History Project. Topics include how Mr. Hand came to work for President Lyndon B. Johnson when he was still a Senator, Democratic Conventions, President Johnson's support for and from Senator Inouye, the friendship between the two, Senator Inouye's compassion, Senator Inouye being one of the "last great giants" of the Senate, and how it felt to enter Senator Inouye's office and be in his presence.
