Topics include being born and growing up the son of sugar laborers in Puʻunēnē Maui, learning to swim in the sugar irrigation ditch, being chased by the camp police for swimming in the ditch, Coach Sakamoto forming the Three-Year Swim Club, competing against Olympic swimmers, and some of the team making it to the Olympics.
