Interview with Nancy Ogasawara recorded on May 27, 1988 and conducted by Chris Conybeare and Barbara Kawakami in Wahiawa. Topics include memories of childhood, growing up on a sugar plantation, her first job working as a house maid when she was a teenager, giving the money she earned to her mother, money saving system in the Japanese camp on the sugar plantation, her marriage, moving from Hawaiʻi Island to Honolulu for jobs, and she and her husband working at the Moana Hotel. Local Japanese words are used throughout the interview.
