1941 Swimming Nationals, Honolulu Harbor, train ride, hula

This video contains a copy of a film reel recorded onto videotape. The reel contains various footage of members of Coach Sakamoto's Three-Year Swim Club on their journeys to and competing at the 1941 men's and women's Nationals, including the A.A.U. Southern Championship. Also includes footage of swimmers practicing, Coach Sakamoto shaking hands with officials, hula at Kaimana beach near Waikiki War Memorial Natatorium, street and boat views from Honolulu harbor, view of Honolulu harbor and Diamond Head from the boat leaving for the continent, view from the train ride on the way to the competition, visits made along their trip across the continent, posing with members of other swim teams, Los Angeles port, and boarding ships. No audio. Duplicate footage is held on two videotapes.
