Interview with Nobuichi Higaki conducted by Chris Conybeare and Barbara Kawakami in Japanese with some English. Recorded June 1987 for the Memory Lane project. Topics include growing up in Japan and coming to Hawaiʻi, the circumstances of his mother and father, his arranged marriage, how he became a carpenter, how people traveled, becoming sick and seeing doctors, and building his home. This interview was also used in the CLEAR Rice & Roses production Hole Hole Bushi: Songs of the Cane Field.
