Interview with Nobuichi Higaki conducted by Chris Conybeare and Barbara Kawakami in Japanese with some English. Recorded June 1987 for the Memory Lane project. Topics include building his home, paying rent, strikes, cars, how sugarcane was transported, workers of other ethnicities and their housing and pay, the day of the Pearl Harbor attack, how generations in Hawaiʻi are different, and performing in plays. This interview was also used in the CLEAR Rice & Roses production Hole Hole Bushi: Songs of the Cane Field.
