This subcollection contains production materials for the program Malama Halawa: The Caretaking of a Valley. In this program Native Hawaiian women and others explain their opposition to construction of the H-3 freeway. The documentary shows the costs of the H-3 project, the need to preserve sacred sites in Hālawa Valley, the failure to follow environmental protection and historic preservation laws, Kukuiokāne Heiau, and the desecration of burial and cultural sites.
