Interview with Thomas Nakayama conducted by Chris Conybeare and recorded on May 18, 1995 for the 1946: The Great Hawaiʻi Sugar Strike project. Topics include his educational background, his father becoming ordained as a Shinto minister, working to afford his own boarding as a student, his different jobs on the plantation, what the plantation was like, gaining higher positions, being a research agriculturist, and the union and pay between the different plantations.
