Interview with George Kuo recorded on October 11, 1992. This video includes several takes of Kuo explaining the difference between American standard tuning and Hawaiian slack key tuning. According to Kuo, "Hawaiian slack key tuning has a beautiful linger from the bass that has a nice full sound that blends with the melody." Kuo explains that Hawaiian slack key has different techniques to add that make it unique to Hawaiʻi including: hammer-on, chimes, and slide.
