Topics include her father writing a novel, her mother's regret that Lee had to work instead of getting an education, her mother's strong will, working as a child in the pineapple fields, her father and mother's different jobs including working at a grocery store, how she ended up being a domestic worker at an early age, the domestic workers' quarters, how they were treated as domestic workers, and the pay of Lee's different jobs.
