This video is a continuation of titles 20758 and 20765 recorded in 1988 at Bishop Museum. The first part of the talk takes place at a Hawaiian instrument exhibit and Dr. Mitchell talks about the nīʻau kani (Hawaiian Jew harp or jaw harp) and makahiki celebrations. The second part of the video takes place at an exhibit featuring Hawaiian bowls and tools. Here Dr. Mitchell talks about the koʻi (adze), traditional canoe building using the koʻi, and other tools.
