Interview with Clyde "Kindy" Sproat recorded on June 28, 1993 continued from title 20796. Sproat tells stories about ʻIolani Luahine and picking white kūpe'e (edible marine snail) from Waiulua Bay on Hawaiʻi Island. Then Sproat tells a story about the first haole (foreign) sugar planters in Hawaiʻi and how the Hawaiian workday was different from the first sugar planters. Sproat also shares his view on Hawaiian families and how "the whole family shared in the process of living."
