Hoʻokuʻikahi at Puʻukoholā Heiau 1991 #3
Continuation of title 22635, Hōkūleʻa arrives at Puʻukoholā heiau for the Hoʻokuʻikahi ceremony recorded in 1991. Hoʻokuʻikahi is a ceremony and re-enactment of the final meeting between Kamehameha I and Keōua. Includes footage of nā koa guarding the heiau; chanters, kumu, and kahu chant and beating the pahu (drums) as more nā koa enter and others set up a lele (altar). The ceremony continues with Kumu John Lake as one of the chanters.
