Interview with Joe Marshall 4/28/92 tape 2

Continued from title 22749 interview with Joe Marshall recorded on April 28, 1992 for the documentary "The History of the Sons of Hawaiʻi." Marshall continues to talk about how the Sons of Hawaiʻi got started with Gabby Pahinui, Eddie Kamae, Joe Marshall and David "Feet" Rogers. One story he tells is how he, Kamae and Pahinui went to ask George Rogers, Feet's father, if Feet could rehearse and play with them. After 2 months of rehearsals they got a gig at the "Sandbox" a nightclub on Sand Island and then getting a gig at "Haiku Gardens" on the Windward side of Oʻahu; and the big following of people who came out to listen to the authentic sound of the Sons of Hawaiʻi.
