Sons of Hawaiʻi award and performance Bishop Museum 1/25/97 tape 1

In 1996 Eddie Kamae received the Charles Reed Bishop Medal. In this video the band are introduced by Bishop Museum Director Donald Duckworth and play a set in Bishop Museum's Hawaiian Hall in front of the hale. For this set the Sons of Hawaiʻi playing are Eddie Kamae, Ocean Kaowili, Pekelo Cosma, and Paul Kim. Recorded January 25, 1997. Songs performed include: "Hanakeoki," composed by Queen Liliʻuokalani; "Ka Lae ʻo Kaʻena," tradtional with music arranged by Eddie Kamae; "Maile Lau Liʻiliʻi," composed by Ray Kinney and David Burrows; and "Ke Ala a ka Jeep," Composed by Eddie and Myrna Kamae and Mary Kawena Pukuʻi.
