This video includes photographs from the collection of Coach Sakamoto, taken in the early to mid 1900s on the island of Maui. Photographs include images of Japanese schools; the theatre and the hospital in Puʻunēnē, Maui; the 1941 National Championship Swim Team; inside Puʻunēnē sugar mill; Coach Sakamoto, Fujiko Katsutani Matsui, Chic Miyamoto Enos, Mitzi Higuchi, and Toyo Takeyama; plantation cane cutters; McGuerrow Camp nursery; and the HC&S baseball team.
