Topics include coming to Hawaiʻi and working in the sugar mill; Tommy meeting up with musicians he knew from the Philippines in Hawaiʻi to play music at parties and gatherings; how Tommy was responsible for getting people to come together for music contests; how Emme would sing Filipino songs on her father's radio and television show; Tommy raising Emme and taking her on his laundry truck job; having an extended family in the music community; younger generation being into non-Filipino music and their feelings about that; organizing music contests, political rallies, and other events in ʻAʻala Park; and Tommy recording live Filipino music and playing the recordings on the radio.
