Recorded in 1977 for the program Pau Hana Years, Bob Barker attends the 146th birthday anniversary of Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop at the Huliheʻe Palace sponsored by The Daughters of Hawaiʻi. The Huliheʻe Palace Band, under the direction of bandmaster Charles "Bud" Dant, performs the memorial concert. Joseph Spencer emcees the program with a line-up that includes vocalists Grace Basque and Nina Kealiʻiwahanamana, the Palace Dancers trained under Kumu Hula ʻIolani Luahine with mele chanted by Hilda Keanaaina, and the Merrie Monarchs Hawaiian Men's Glee Club. Barker interviews Dant about the inception of the Huliheʻe Palace Band.
