Pau Hana Years : Hawaiian Quilting with Deborah Kakalia 9/9/76

Interview with quilter Deborah Kakalia recorded on September 9, 1976 and conducted by Charlotte Simmons at the Hawaiʻi Public Television studio for the episode Pau Hana Years. Kakalia displays her craftwork of Hawaiian quilt pillows and wall hangings. She talks about working with Napua Stevens who encouraged her to teach. With her student, Milly Singletary, Kakalia shares her book, "Hawaiian Quilting As an Art."
