Interview with Kahu David Kawika Kaʻalakea recorded at his house and in his church in Kīhei on May 26, 1990 for the documentary "Hawaiian Voices: Bridging Past to Present." In ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi (Hawaiian language). Kahu Kaʻalakea shares the many ways the kumu kukui (kukui tree) can be useful; and also some old Hawaiian traditions of cleansing the body after someone has passed. Includes b-roll footage of Kahu Kaʻalakea walking around his kitchen; sitting in the carport feeding his dogs; and sitting in the pews at his church.
