In this episode of Pau Hana Years recorded in 1981, Charlotte Villita [Charlotte Simmons] visits the senior citiizen clubs on Maui and Kauaʻi. Members of the Lahaina Senior Citizens Club perform Hawaiian music and hula, as the members of Kaunoa Senior Citizens Club work on arts and crafts and play ʻukulele. Villita interviews Kiyono Hookano and Angeline Tamaribuchi in West Kauaʻi as they demonstrate haku lei-making. Members of the Kapaʻa Senior Citizens Club perform Japanese folk dance. Richardo Gascon demonstrates bamboo basket weaving at the Hanapēpē Senior Citizens Center, and Kalaheo Senior Citizens Club members sing.
