Pau Hana Years : "Na Makua Mahalo Ia"

In this episode of Pau Hana Years, Brigham Young University-Hawaii honors seven kūpuna with "Na Makua Mahalo Ia (The Most Honored)" for their contributions to Hawaiian music held on March 20, 1980. The program features Alice Kuʻuleialohapoʻinaʻole Kanakaoluna Nāmakelua and John Kameaaloha Almeida with their performances of "Iesu Me Ke Kanaka Waiwai," "Waipio," "Panini Pua Kea," "O ʻAloha Iā 'Oe," "ʻĀ ʻOia," and "Nani." Genoa Keawe accompanies the performers. Nāmakelua shares the meaning of kī hōʻalu (slack key guitar) music.
