Pau Hana Years : "A Taste of Symphony"; 1981

In this episode of Pau Hana Years titled "A Taste of Symphony," host Charlotte Simmons visits the Honolulu Symphony at the Blaisdell Concert Hall and interviews musicians Jose Blankleder and Ruth Orcutt Bacon. Blankleder talks about his vintage viola instrument and learning how to play viola and Bacon talks about her life playing the piano and how she came to Hawaiʻi. Both perform accompanied by the Honolulu Symphony including Bacon performing her original composition, "Concert Piece for Piano and Orchestra," and a performance with vocalist Nina Kealiiwahamana.
