Sam Gon leads group hike in Kokeʻe 5/26/99 tape 1
Conservationist Sam Gon leads a group hike into a mesic forest in Kokeʻe recorded on May 26,1999 for the documentary May Earth Live: A Journey Through the Hawaiian Forest. Gon begins the hike with an oli (chant) and explains that the forest is a wao akua, realm/zone of the gods. The group continues the hike as Gon explains what a mesic forest is as well as pointing out native plants along the way. Includes b-roll footage of the plants.
