Molokaʻi 6/16/99 tape 1
Footage recorded on Molokaʻi Island on June 16, 1999 for the documentary May Earth Live: A Journey Through the Hawaiian Forest. Tape begins with scenic shots of Waikolu Valley with conservationist Sam Gon talking about the valley as well as native ecosystems in general. Next Gon and the crew drive through the Molokaʻi Forest Reserve to the Kamakou Preserve as they talk about the history of the reserve and what they see as they drive. After their ride they meet with a group at the Pēpēʻōpae trail in the Kamakou Preserve, where Gon explains cultural protocol used when entering the forest. Tape ends with footage of the Molokaʻi bog with Gon and the crew speaking about the plants they see.
