Interviews with Eddie Kamae and Herb Kane recorded separately in 1987 for the documentary "Liʻa: The Legacy of a Hawaiian Man." Footage includes Kamae sitting on top of a boulder on the side of the road which leads down into Waipiʻo Valley and singing a song titled "Hinahina Kū Kahakai" written by Sam Liʻa Kalainaina for his wife, Sarah. Tape also includes Kane sharing stories told to him by his father about Waipiʻo Valley which includes the moʻolelo (story/history) of Moʻikeha, his brother ʻOlopana, and their mutual wife Luʻukia leaving Waipiʻo for Tahiti; Kalainaina's band; the independence and self-sufficiency of Waipiʻo Valley; and other Kalainaina stories.
