Interview with Eddie Kamae in Punaluʻu 8/29/09 tape 1

Interview with Eddie Kamae recorded on August 29, 2009 in Punaluʻu, Oʻahu for the documentary "Those Who Came Before: The Musical Journey of Eddie Kamae." Kamae shares his first impressions of Pilahi Paki. Kamae says it was a very fortunate first meeting with Paki in which they discussed her manaʻo (thoughts) of what aloha is and that the world can learn love from "these little islands in the middle of the Pacific Ocean." Kamae put music to the words of Paki's "Aloha Chant." Kamae also talks about the mystic collaboration of "No Ke Ano Ahiahi," and shares his special experience of visiting Mary Kawena Pukui's hometown of Kaʻū, Hawaiʻi.
