Interview with Maxine Sousa recorded on July 14, 1994 and conducted by Martha Noyes for Legacy of Light. Sousa talks about the education of her mother, Pilahi Pakī. Sousa discusses moving from Maui to Oʻahu to live with her parents after being raised by her aunt. She explains about her mother's path to learning and teaching Hawaiian language and culture and how Pakī wrote the song, "Aloha Is." Sousa shares her family photographs.
