Interview with Harold "Hale" Kaniho recorded in Olowalu, Maui on July 21, 1999 for the documentary "Lahaina: Waves of Change." Kaniho shares his experiences growing up in Lāhainā town; working for the sugar plantation (Pioneer Mill Company) for 43 1/2 years; Kamehameha III school days; running around the Banyan Tree and being kolohe (rascal) to the old folks who took care of that area; and his father Humehume Kaniho being a great hunter and the lessons he taught Kaniho and his brothers.
