Rice & Roses #1222 : Worker to Worker

With the creation of agencies such as OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and NIOSH (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health), workers have somewhere they can turn to if they need support for their claims of unsafe working conditions. The film "Worker To Worker" (1980) follows several people who have organized to bring petitions to their employers to provide proper personal protective equipment for their employees and the steps they took to ensure the company complied. The film follows others who have filed lawsuits claiming the unsafe exposure to chemicals has caused birth defects in their children and shows how the unions and health and safety agencies have helped strengthen their cases. This film was withdrawn from general distribution by the Reagan administration but re-released after months of public pressure. The film is presented by Rice and Roses as a public service and introduced by Ed Asner. Taped on February 9, 1982.
