Rice & Roses Strike : #5b

Footage filmed on Oʻahu and Hawaiʻi Island with scenes of sugarcane workers in the field, picket lines of ILWU Unit 4103 and 1106 workers, hunters, people reviewing paperwork, some kitchen preparation work, and living off the land in order to help sustain striking workers by hunting and gardening. Other clips include family fun day at the park including Tahitian dancers meetings, strike kitchens, bangos (worker identification tags), union members assisting with construction projects, and clips from a union member made movie called "Sugar Strike 1958" (title 28353).
