Interview with Tomas Belsky recorded on June 18, 1989 for the documentary "Luther Kahekili Makekau: A One Kine Hawaiian Man." Belsky calls Luther Makekau a "many-faceted individual." Belsky met Makekau in 1974, his first year in the Hawaiian islands. Belsky says Makekau introduced him to the real Hawaiʻi and shared stories of what happened to Hawaiʻi over the years. Belsky recalls that "old Hawaiʻi is what Luther talked about."
