Interview with Elton "Tui" Suganuma recorded at the Liliʻuokalani Park in Hilo on October 6, 1996 for the documentary "Keepers of the Flame: The Cultural Legacy of Three Hawaiian Women." Suganuma shares the art of hei (string figure) and explains the difference of hei styles between cultures as well as within the Hawaiian Islands and how different districts would have their own ways of showing up at the final figure; a Thanksgiving dinner with grandma, Mary Kawena Pukui; and a demonstration of a double figure and a moʻolelo of Kauhale o Limaloa.
