Interview with Coline Aiu, kumu hula of Hālau Hula o Maʻiki, recorded on February 12, 2004 for the documentary "Keepers of the Flame: The Cultural Legacy of Three Hawaiian Women." Aiu talks about Mary Kawena Pukui, Edith Kanakaʻole, and ʻIolani Luahine being born in the late 19th and early 20th century and the history of Hawaiʻi at that time; the effects the overthrow of the Hawaiian monarchy had on the people of Hawaiʻi; and laws being passed in Hawaiʻi school systems during these times.
