Interview and footage with Piilani Nahiwa recorded on October 6, 1996 for the documentary "Keepers of the Flame: The Cultural Legacy of Three Hawaiian Women." In the interview Nahiwa shares her experiences with three Hawaiian women Edith Kanakaʻole, Mary Kawena Pukui, and ʻIolani Luahine including taking hula kahiko (ancient dance) from Gramma Fuji, Kanakaʻole's mother; and her interview and conversations with Pukui about hula kahiko and ʻailolo (two hula styles/training). Also included is footage of a raffia hula skirt being made.
