Continued from title 28998, interview with Kekuhi Kanahele-Frias and Pualani Kanakaʻole Kanahele separately recorded at their home in Keaukaha on March 25, 2004 for the documentary "Keepers of the Flame: The Cultural Legacy of Three Hawaiian Women." Kanahele-Frias continues to talk about how her grandmother's actions forced them to think about what they learn and what they do with that information. Kanakaʻole Kanahele shares insights into the lifestyle of her mother, Edith Kanakaʻole. Kanakaʻole Kanahele also uses the volcano as a metaphor with land being their foundation and the connection between Edith Kanakaʻole, Mary Kawena Pukui, and ʻIolani Luahine.
