Rice & Roses #622 : Counseling Activities of the Unions

It was once thought that unions only concentrated on the wages, hours, and the working conditions of their membership. However, unions have also sought to assist in the total welfare of the person and not just job related issues. Host Max Roffman interviews Teddy Lii, business agent United Public Workers (UPW); Ah Quon McElrath, social worker International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU); and John Penebacker, educational specialist Hawaiʻi Government Employees Association (HGEA). The panel discusses what counseling and referral services do and what services are available to members in the different unions.
