Hawaiians Part III : Hold Fast

Part three in the Hawaiians series, "Hold Fast" focuses on how Kanaka ʻŌiwi (Native Hawaiians) have changed and how they are rejuvenating and preserving their culture through oli (chant), hula, hīmeni (hymns) and mele (music). Features Kumu Kauʻi Zuttermeister discussing being a loea, explaining oli, and hula pahu with her hālau. Includes interviews with kumu hula, ethnomusicologists, scholars, and cultural practitioners including Kumu Zuttermeister, Kumu Pualani Kanakaʻole Kanahele, Elizabeith Tatar, Charles Kenn, Wayne Chang, Dorothy Kahananui Gillett, Jack de Mello, Fred Kalani Meinecke, Barbara Meheula, Peter Moon, Robert Cazimero, Davianna McGregor, and Roland Cazimero.
