Enduring Pride : Volume 7

This seventh volume of Enduring Pride features four segments on Native Hawaiian people, language, and culture. The first segment is a short biography of George Jarrett Helm Jr. and his disappearance in the waters off the island of Kahoʻolawe. The second segment is a feature on Haili's Hawaiian Foods and their dedication to preparing Hawaiian food using the traditional methods in a modern world. The third segment is an instructional lesson of ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi by Kaipo Hale. The final segment is a feature on the life of legendary Hawaiian falsetto singer Aunty Genoa Keawe. In between segments, host Karen Keawehawaiʻi looks at the Waipā Project where traditional methods of growing kalo are implemented to feed communities on Kauaʻi. Recorded circa 1987.
