Enduring Pride : Volume 3

This third volume of Enduring Pride, with guest host Honolulu Skylark Rossetti, uses Oʻahu as its focus. The first segment explores the history of Oʻahu's Koʻolau mountain range. The second segment looks at the Kupuna Program and shows how pride in one's heritage is associated with increased learning ability in Hawaiian elementary students. The third segment features singer songwriter Haunani Apoliona who composes modern songs using ʻOlelo Hawaiʻi. The fourth segment explains what ceded lands are and provides updates on the efforts of the Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA) to receive money from the use of those ceded lands. The last segment is a hula performance by Kūhai Hālau O Kawaikapuokalani Pā ʻŌlapa Kahiko under the direction of Kumu Hula Frank Kawaikapuokalani Hewett. Recorded circa 1986.
