Enduring Pride : Volume 6

This sixth episode of Enduring Pride consists of four segments that focus on the culture, language, and history of the people of Hawaiʻi. The first segment is a short biography of renowned artist, writer, and historian Herb Kane, including his involvement with the Polynesian Voyaging Society and the Hōkūleʻa. The second segment is an ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi lesson given by Kaipo Hale outlining proper pronunciation, the Hawaiian alphabet, and the proper use of the ʻokina and kahakō. The final segment is a feature on the history of the Makaha Sons of Niʻihau, including a performance by the group. Recorded in 1987.
