Rice & Roses #502 : Union Maids part 2

Rice & Roses presents part two of "Union Maids" (1976). The second part of the film continues to interview three women who were involved in the formation of various unions in the 1930s, Kate Hyndman, Stella Nowicki, and Sylvia Woods. Through these interviews the film looks at how the union workers showed their strength to their employers by holding union meetings at the plant gates, stopping workflow when issues arose, and fighting against evictions of people in the area. Interviewees also reflect on their roles in various unions and their thoughts on current unions. Recorded in 1976.
