Torchlight vigil

On the night of January 13 ceremony began with a torchlight vigil. Kūpuna vigil started at 8 pm and included cultural protocol to open ceremony, hula, oli (chants), and mele. Sam Kaʻai and John Lake were two leaders of the ceremony that continued on to the next day.
